Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones has been selected for the Royal Film Performance in late November. Organizers said Thursday that it is not clear which members of the Royal family will roll up for the world premiere charity gala to be held in Leicester Square at the end of November for the Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund. Based on Alice Sebold’s novel, the movie centers on a girl who has been murdered and watches over her family — and her killer — from heaven. She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli and Saoirse Ronan. A DreamWorks and Film4-backed film from Jackson’s Wingnut Production, the movie is distributed by Paramount Pictures worldwide and scheduled to rollout in the U.K. in January 2010. CTBF president David Murrell said: “We are truly grateful to Paramount Pictures for arranging this special premiere two months ahead of U.K. release and to the Royal Family for their unstinted support of this exceptional fundraising event.”
Rachel Weisz happy to get older!

Hollywood actress Rachel Weisz has no problems about getting older, because she feels she is more confident and happy with herself. The 39-year-old actress isn’t nervous about hitting the milestone age next March because as she has gotten older, her confidence has grown. “I just think that things get easier as you get older and wiser and more experienced. You get more confident about who you are as you get older. I find that really comforting,” she said. Weisz who has a three-year-old son, Henry, with her filmmaker fiance Darren Aronofsk, believes her twenties were the worst decade of her life, because she was struggling to make it as an actress and find her identity. “Being 20 is excruciating, at least it was for me. In your thirties you get more confident about who you are and that is a relief, so imagine what the forties will be like,” she said.

When asked now she felt about this honor, Weisz replied, “It’s fantastic, don’t you think? I love being a lesbian icon!” Weisz expressed her aspiration to play the role of a lesbian in a female version of Brokeback Mountain, “something like Ang Lee did, with a history of women.” Weisz is rumored to be a front-runner along side Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox and Charlize Theron for the coveted role of Catwoman. Jennifer’s Body and Girlfight director Karyn Kusama is rumored to be working on a project that she has co-written and has revealed that Weisz is attached to the horror flick. The director of Jennifer’s Body has revealed that Rachel Weisz will be starring in her next film. Karyn Kusama told io9 that she is planning to make a “psychological horror”. She said: “There’s a screenplay I wrote a while ago with a partner that has a sort of element of horror, although I would call it a psychological horror in the Cronenberg tradition, that I’m trying to get made. “It definitely does fall into sort of a body horror movie that deals very, very specifically with our concept of gender.” Kusama concluded: “I can’t really talk to you specifically about it other than to say that Rachel Weisz is attached to the film.”
