Sharon Osbourne on X-Factor

Written by admin on 13 Mar, 2010 | Archived under: Misc News, News & Gossip

Sharon Osbourne has revealed she can’t bring herself to watch The X Factor – because she misses it too much. The TV judge stepped down from the ITV competition in 2008 and was replaced by Cheryl Cole. “I miss X Factor terribly – I still can’t watch it,” she told the Daily Mirror. Sharon admitted she decided to leave the show because she had enough, hinting her relationship with Dannii Minogue prompted her to leave. “I walked from X Factor because I couldn’t stand the b******t any more. Simon Cowell wanted me to stay but my pride wouldn’t let me sit alongside Dannii Minogue. I couldn’t stand her,” she said. “It’ll do fantastically well in America but I won’t be a part of it. Done it, been there, seen what it tastes like.” Sharon – who now sits on the panel for America’s Got Talent with David Hasselhoff and Piers Morgan – admitted she doesn’t plan to be a TV judge forever. “I don’t want to be a judge much longer. It’s nice to be liked, but hard work trying to maintain that profile,” she said. Sharon also told how she would like to be played by 39-year-old Rachel Weisz in a film version of her 61-year-old husband Ozzy’s autobiography because “she’s beautiful”.

Happy And Healthy Rachel Weisz

Written by admin on 4 Mar, 2010 | Archived under: News & Gossip

Rachel Weisz thinks “happiness is the secret to health”. The British actress – who has a three-year-old son Henry with her long-term partner, director Darren Aranofsky – believes her contentment with family life helps keep her looking good. The 39-year-old beauty said: “I’m pretty healthy but I don’t have any fad diets or anything. I eat meat and drink alcohol, but everything in moderation. “I think happiness is the secret to health.” The Lovely Bones star also admitted she doesn’t feel the need to take time out of her schedule to work out because looking after Henry uses up so much of her energy. She explained: “Carrying a toddler around is incredible. I’ve got in shape from the baby, not from the gym.” In The Lovely Bones, Rachel plays a mother whose teenage daughter is brutally raped and murdered. Despite the dark plotline, the actress says being able to go home to her family helped her switch off at the end of every day. She said: “Any mother has worries about the death of her child, but as an actor you have to imagine all sorts of things – some beautiful, some ugly – and one isn’t necessarily harder than the other. “In a way a film set is a safe place to imagine it because it’s not real. It’s just fantasy. When I went home I left it at work.”

Weisz wants Botox banned

Written by admin on 1 Mar, 2010 | Archived under: News & Gossip

Rachel Weisz is calling on movie bosses to ban Botox for actors, comparing the popular age-defying injections to illegal “steroids for sportsmen”. The Mummy star will turn 40 on Oscar night (March 07) but she still refuses to follow the Hollywood trend. And Weisz is appealing for her fellow stars to stop the cosmetic procedure and start accepting their real age and wrinkles if they want to give award-winning performances. She tells U.S. magazine Life & Style, “It should be banned for actors as steroids are for sportsmen… Acting is all about expression.”
